A Subscription-Based Program with Ongoing Education and Sustained Activist Engagement
“Those people who bear the brunt of the oppression should not be required to also take responsibility for eliminating it.”
Barbara Love
A Subscription-Based Program with Ongoing Education and Sustained Activist Engagement.
Do you want to learn about social justice concepts and gain new tools?
Do you wish you had help formulating and executing activism steps?
Do you long to be a part of a community doing this work together?
ACTivate is a subscription-based program with ongoing education and sustained activist engagement created with you in mind.
Whether you are passionate about racial justice, human rights, gender equality, LGBTQI+ rights, animal rights, or climate change you understand that you cannot do this work alone.
ACTivate is your community space to do this work with others. We are not meant to do social justice work alone. Together we do great things.
Using Barbara Love’s guiding principles from her work, Developing a Liberatory Consciousness, of Awareness, Analysis, Action and Accountability/Ally-ship, we will make the world a better place for all.
Excited?! I know, me too! Here is how we do it.
ACTivate’s guiding principles are:
Awareness: Each month during our community 2-hour zoom call we will deep dive on a topic relating to social justice. Together we will educate and learn about new ideas and tools to aid our work.
Analysis: We will seek to more critically understand social justice work and ourselves through guided conversations and self-reflective work to understand what is really going on individually, systemically and ideologically in our communities and the world. This analysis will ensure that our work has more impact, and our work causes less harm in the communities that need us most.
Action: Monthly you will create action items for the social change you wish to see. You can form groups within this community or work with existing communities or start your own project (and bring people on board). Being engaged and staying engaged in our small steps each month is the way to lasting change.
Accountability/Ally-ship: We will hold one another accountable with trust and respect to the action steps that are ours to do. We will give as well as receive support. We will share our struggles and our wins. Think of this as the “I’ve got you” portion of the work. When you are stuck or struggling with what you are learning or your action steps, you have a team of committed community members to support and motivate you.
ACTivate: The Details
Your $35 a month subscription gives you access to:
A monthly 2-hour zoom community call, the first Wednesday of each month from 6:00pm-8:00pm PST
During these calls we will become Aware and do some Analysis as I led you through a core concept of social justice work and/or share a tool with you.
We will break-out into teams to develop your Action plan for the month.
We will share struggles and wins and ask for support. But the real, on-going Accountability will last all month long in our classroom.
Access to private, member only Google Classroom
Monthly discussion boards for you to share your action steps, report on your progress, ask for help, provide assistance, celebrate and be celebrated for wins.
Inspiration and resources provided throughout the month
Access to a dedicated resource sharing folder which we all contribute to
Recorded zoom calls will be archived here for those who cannot attend the call
You can cancel your membership, any time, and restart at any time.
I recommend a 12-month commitment.
When you commit and pay up front for the full year, I offer a one-month free discount. Instead of paying $420 for the year, you will pay only $385. That is 24 hours of zoom class time and unlimited engagement inside our classroom for $385.
There are no prerequisites for joining the ACTivate community. Your work will be even more impactful having completed my Racial Justice Activism: Pitfalls and Pathways course. You can sign up for the next offering or download and start the self-guided course today.
If you are a beginner to social justice work (less than a year’s worth of reading and education and action) I suggest you start first with my Unpacking Whiteness, Seeing Race course. You can sign up for the next offering or download and start the self-guided course today.
